hybrid geoid

URL copied Share URL
  1. [geodesy] A gravimetric geoid model constrained to GPS or GNSS observations at leveled benchmarks. In general, the resulting surface consists of three components: a bias, a tilt, and locally varying surface curvature. The most common use of a hybrid geoid model is to transform GPS-derived ellipsoidal heights to a leveling-based regional vertical datum, such as NAVD 88.
