In remote sensing, a mathematical solution that provides a ground-to-image transformation. Typically has a ground-to-image function, adjustable parameters, and error covariance parameters. While physical sensor models are based on the physical design of the sensor model, replacement (theoretical) sensor models are not directly modeled.
