The near ultraviolet and near infrared portions of the electromagnetic spectrum. Neither near ultraviolet nor near infrared light is visible to the human eye but are just outside the range of visible light. Near ultraviolet light has longer wavelengths (between visible light and x-rays); near infrared light has shorter wavelengths (between visible light and microwaves).
