ArcGIS Insights 2022.1 Security Patch

Esri®  announces the ArcGIS Insights 2022.1 Security Patch. If you are using Insights in ArcGIS Enterprise or Insights desktop 2022.1 with ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8.1, either as the base deployment or the primary ArcGIS connection, this patch resolves a security vulnerability with importing Insights workbook packages. If you are using a lower version of ArcGIS Insights, upgrade to ArcGIS Insights 2022.1 and apply this security patch.

This patch must be applied to each Portal for ArcGIS machine, each ArcGIS Server machine, and each ArcGIS Insights desktop machine with ArcGIS Insights installed. It deals specifically with the issues listed below under Issues Addressed with this patch.

Note: On a single-machine deployment, you only need to run the setup once. If your Portal for ArcGIS is configured as highly available, you need to run the setup program on both portal machines. If your hosting server is a multimachine site, you need to run the setup program on all of the machines in the hosting server site.

Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS Insights installation location.

Insights in ArcGIS Enterprise 2022.1 must be installed before installing this patch.

Step 1: Download the appropriate file to a location other than your Insights in ArcGIS Enterprise installation location.

Step 2: Make sure you have write access to your Insights in ArcGIS Enterprise installation location.

Step 3: Double-click ArcGIS-20221-AI-S-Patch.msp to start the setup process.

NOTE: If double clicking on the MSP file does not start the setup installation, you can start the setup installation manually by using the following command:

msiexec.exe /p [location of Patch]\ArcGIS-20221-AI-S-Patch.msp

Complete the following install steps as the ArcGIS Install owner. The Install owner is the owner of the arcgis folder.

Insights in ArcGIS Enterprise 2022.1 must be installed before installing this patch.

Step 1: Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS Insights installation location.

Step 2: Make sure you have write access to your Insights in ArcGIS Enterprise installation location, and that no one is using ArcGIS Insights.

Step 3: Extract the specified tar file by typing:

% tar -xvf ArcGIS-20221-AI-<PFA or S>-S-Patch-linux.tar

Step 4: Start the installation by typing:

% ./applypatch

This will start the dialog for the menu-driven installation procedure. Default selections are noted in parentheses ( ). To quit the installation procedure, type 'q' at any time.

ArcGIS Insights 2022.1 must be installed before installing this patch.

Step 1: Download the appropriate file(s) to a location other than your ArcGIS Insights desktop installation location.

 Step 2: Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS Insights desktop installation location.

 Step 3: Double-click ArcGIS-20221-AIDT-S-Patch.msp to start the setup process.

NOTE: If double clicking on the MSP file does not start the setup installation, you can start the setup installation manually by using the following command:

msiexec.exe /p [location of Patch]\ArcGIS-20221-AIDT-S-Patch.msp

ArcGIS Insights 2022.1 must be installed before installing this patch.

Step 1: Download the ArcGIS-20221-AIDT-S-Patch-mac.dmg  file to your local machine.

Step 2: Double click the ArcGIS-20221-AIDT-S-Patch-mac.dmg file to extract the setup files.

Step 3: Double click the .pkg file to launch the setup. The install wizard will open. Follow the instructions in the wizard.

To uninstall this patch on Windows, open the Windows Control Panel and navigate to installed programs. Make sure that "View installed updates" (upper left side of the Programs and Features dialog) is active. Select the patch name from the programs list and click Uninstall to remove the patch.

To remove this patch, navigate to the /tmp directory and run the following script as the ArcGIS Install owner:

./patchremove

Notes: You can only remove the patch that was installed most recently.

Note: Uninstalling the Apple MacOS version of this patch will uninstall the entire ArcGIS Insights Product.

Step 1: Open the Finder window and click Applications.

Step 2: Locate the program to be removed.

Step 3: Drag the program to the Trash.

Step 4: Empty the Trash to permanently remove the application.
