What are some best practices for virtualizing a License Manager machine?
Last Published: April 25, 2020
This article describes some best practices for setting up License Manager 10.2 in a virtual environment.
Installation of ArcGIS License Manager 10.2 in a virtual environment follows the same installation and startup process as noted in ArcGIS Resources.
Because a virtual environment is more dynamic than a physical machine, attention to locking down the environment as much as possible is required. Prior to authorizing any licenses, make sure the virtual machine has a static IP address, memory and hard drive size.
Use the following steps when setting up a clone of License Manager.
1. Deauthorize licenses in License Manager and remove the trusted store folder:
C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet
2. Stop the License Manager service 3. Clone the virtual machine. 4. Authorize the licenses.
