US 2021, US 2022 Data Deprecation

Last Published: April 18, 2024

Starting in mid-June 2024, Esri will discontinue the Esri 2021 and Esri 2022 datasets for the US. Users should transition their workflows and processes to the Esri 2023 and Esri 2024 US datasets ahead of this change. The Esri 2024 US dataset will be available as part of the Esri Demographics data release scheduled for mid-June 2024. For more information about Esri’s US datasets, please visit Esri Updated Demographics

US 2021, US 2022 Data is being deprecated for two reasons:

  • New data is available
  • It contains HERE-based zip code information.

Users should rely on US 2023 and US 2024 data via the following Esri delivery mechanisms:

  • ArcGIS Business Analyst Web App, ArcGIS Business Analyst Mobile App and ArcGIS Community Analyst customers
    • Should refer to information and instructions provided through in-app notification, Q2 email newsletter (send date: June release date), Esri Demographics doc page (notification and high-level explanation)
    • Changes may be published in an off-cycle release in the Data update notes section of the Data in Business Analyst topic (changes out on 3/26)
  • Esri Reports (e-commerce site) customers
  • ArcGIS Developers and ArcGIS Location Platform developer APIs and SDKs customers
  • ArcGIS Business Analyst Pro and ArcGIS Business Analyst Enterprise customers
  • ArcGIS Online Map Viewer, Experience Builder, ArcGIS Notebooks, and other ArcGIS Apps customers
  • ArcGIS Pro customers
  • ArcGIS for Microsoft 365 customers
  • ArcGIS Insights customers
