Unable to access a mobile geodatabase if the geodatabase name contains a comma

Description

When adding a mobile geodatabase to the map in ArcGIS Pro and the geodatabase name contains a comma, ArcGIS Pro returns one of the following errors.

Error:
Unable to open database file (doesn't exist or no read access)[ ]

Error:
DBMS table not found [no such table: main.GDB_Items] [GBD_Items]
Second error DBMS

Cause

Commas in mobile geodatabase names are not allowed in ArcGIS Pro, even though they are allowed in Windows.

Solution or Workaround

  1. Open Windows File Explorer.
  2. Navigate to the folder where the mobile geodatabase is stored in.
  3. Rename the mobile geodatabase to remove all commas in the mobile geodatabase name.
  4. In ArcGIS Pro, in the Catalog pane, right-click the folder connection with the mobile geodatabase and click Refresh.
