PROBLEM

Dates are not recorded for a Date and Time question submitted from the ArcGIS Survey123 web app

Last Published: April 29, 2022

Description

The dates submitted to Date and Time questions through the ArcGIS Survey123 web form are not captured in the attribute table of the survey’s hosted feature layer.

Date and Time not captured in attribute table

Cause

The Date and Time questions require both date and time to be filled out on the form when the form is submitted through the web app. If only the date or time is filled out, the submission does not capture the date or time alone. However, the ArcGIS Survey123 web app allows users to submit the form and the datetime field remains blank in the attribute table of the survey’s hosted feature layer.

.When the date or time is unfilled, the submission does not capture the date or time alone

Solution or Workaround

Choose one of the following as a solution.

Make the Date and Time question mandatory

In the ArcGIS Survey123 web designer, edit the Date and Time question by checking the This is a required question check box.
