HOW TO

Turn on debug mode in logs for Drone2Map for ArcGIS

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Summary

In Drone2Map for ArcGIS, by default, the activity logs only capture errors and warnings when running a project. To capture all errors and warnings when a project is not running, debug mode can be enabled. The instructions below describe how to do this.

Note:
The logs are found at: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Drone2Map\log

Procedure

If using Drone2Map for ArcGIS 1.3 or later, the logging level can be altered in the interface.

  1. Open Drone2Map for ArcGIS, and navigate to the Project page.
  2. Under Settings, view the System Settings.
  3. Find Set the level of message logging by Drone2Map for ArcGIS and set the level to Info, Debug, Warn, or Trace.
    Note:
    Trace is the highest level of logging available.

If the option in the interface is unavailable, the logging can be set manually with the following:

  1. Navigate to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Drone2Map\config.
  2. Open the log.json file in a text editor.
  3. Make the following changes:
    {
    "logLevel": "Trace"
    }
  4. Save the log.json file.
