Esri Maps for Office prerequisite installation repeats and the application fails to install

Description

Before installing Esri Maps for Office, the installation process checks the system for various prerequisites and prompts to install any missing dependent applications. Once completed, the installer should proceed to install Esri Maps for Office. Instead, it returns to the System Check window and prompts to install prerequisites again. This process repeats in an endless loop and never gets to the next step to install Esri Maps for Office.

Cause

Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime files are missing from the system. These files are required to properly install Esri Maps for Office and are not automatically installed. Additionally, there is no documentation or warning about what supporting files are required.
