Error Message

During the installation of ArcGIS Server, the following error message appears:

"Error 1904. Module C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\bin\SceneGraph.dll failed to register. HRESULT -2147024769. Contact your support personnel."

Cause

The SceneGraph.dll failed to register during the installation.

Solution or Workaround

1. When prompted with the error during the installation, click 'Ignore' and complete the installation.
2. After the installation completes, go to Start > Run.
3. At the Run command, type the following:
   
   regsvr32 "<arcgis_install_location>\Bin\scenegraph.dll"
   
   For example:
   
   

   Code:
   regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\bin\scenegraph.dll"

   
   

   Note:
   This problem can also be resolved by applying the most recent ESRI Service Pack found in the Related Information below.
