DEPRECATION
Oriented Imagery (Classic), a community-supported prototype for managing and visualizing street-level images, 360 images, drone imagery, video, and more, will be retired with the ArcGIS Online February 2026 update. Esri will no longer fix bugs or update Oriented Imagery (Classic) components to be compatible with ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro 3.7 and higher, and ArcGIS Enterprise 12.1 and higher. This retirement is part of Esri’s ongoing effort to provide a unified, fully supported oriented imagery experience directly within ArcGIS. The integrated ArcGIS oriented imagery capability now includes all major Oriented Imagery (Classic) functionality, enabling a seamless migration path for users.
The Esri-supported oriented imagery capability integrated into ArcGIS has reached major feature equivalency with Oriented Imagery (Classic), making the continued maintenance of the prototype solution unnecessary. Additionally, the underlying technology stack for Oriented Imagery (Classic) will no longer be supported in future releases of ArcGIS Maps SDK 5.x for JavaScript, which further necessitates this retirement.
Existing Oriented Imagery (Classic) users should plan to migrate any oriented imagery catalogs, apps, and workflows to the supported oriented imagery functionality built into ArcGIS.
