10.4 Server Linux Spanish on RHEL5.7 unable to connect to internet to authorize with prvc

Last Published: April 25, 2020

While installing ArcGIS 10.4 for Server on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5.7 using either GUI, silent, or console mode, authorizing the software using a .prvc file fails with the following error:

Unable to send your authorization information to Esri via the internet.
Please check your internet connection and try again.

The Software Authorization Wizard used during ArcGIS 10.4 for Server installation is incompatible with RHEL5.7, and is unable to access the internet to complete the authorization process.

If you have an .ecp authorization file from Esri for ArcGIS Server, it can be used to authorize the software instead.
Run the authorizeSoftware tool by providing a .prvc file after ArcGIS for Server is installed:
Navigate to /arcgis/server/tools

>> ./authorizeSoftware
