  1. [graphics (map display)] The intensity or purity of a color; the perceived amount of white in a hue relative to its brightness, or how free it is of gray of the same value. Media/saturation.gif
  2. [physics] The point at which energy flux exceeds the sensitivity range of a detector.
  3. [meteorology] The condition that exists when air holds the maximum possible amount of water vapor for its temperature and atmospheric pressure; when the relative humidity is 100 percent.
