Acronym for positioning, navigation, and timing. Location information gathered by satellite navigation constellations about objects on or above the ground, used for routing, location-based services, and spatial analytics. Positioning provides the geographic location of an object; navigation forecasts the object's location for use with routing; and timing synchronizes position and navigation to improve travel time calculations.
