multispectral image

URL copied Share URL
  1. [image processing, physics] Images composed of multiple wavelength intervals across the electromagnetic spectrum, typically 4–15 bands. Multispectral images are produced by sensors that detect and record radiation in several distinct spectral bands, including visible light, near infrared, ultraviolet, shortwave infrared, thermal, and other parts of the spectrum beyond the range of human vision. Multispectral bands are typically discrete, making them useful for digital image processing and analysis.
