  1. [photogrammetry] In imagery, a measurement technique using relative geometric relationships to determine object properties—such as line length (distance), building height, surface area, and object volume—from a series of collected points, lines, and angles from the image or from image metadata. For example, the height of a building can be measured based on the length of its shadow using sun angle information in the image metadata.
