intersection

  1. [data management] The point where two lines cross. In geocoding, most often a street crossing. Media/intersection.gif
  2. [photogrammetry] The result from calculating the meeting point of two rays from two or more different images, providing the x, y, z ground location of the conjugate image points. Computed using the least squares solution, yielding the location where the rays most closely approach each other.
  3. [cartography] The area of overlap between features.
