Acronym for Continuously Operating Reference Station. A permanent GNSS tracking station that provides continuous real-time or near real-time positioning information. CORS stations have applications in surveying, meteorology, space, weather, and geophysics. In the United States, the national CORS network is managed by the U.S. National Geodetic Survey (NGS) and is also known as the NOAA CORS Network (NCN).
