Recover lost licenses from My Esri

Summary

Esri licenses may be unrecoverable when a computer's hard drive is reformatted or otherwise fails, or if the machine is lost or stolen. This article describes how to recover lost licenses from My Esri.

Procedure

Use the Recover Lost Licenses tool. The tool prompts you to find, in our records, the crashed, lost, or damaged machine. Locate it either by supplying the products activated on it, or by entering the UMN (Unique Machine Number) ID.

  1. Sign in to My Esri.
  2. On the right side of the menu bar, click the help (question mark) button.
  3. From the help menu, click Common Questions and Guided Help, as shown in the next image:

  1. In the pop-up help menu, scroll down to Licensing - Recover Lost Licenses.
  2. In this section are a number of topics on license recovery, click One of our machines crashed. How can I recover lost licenses?.
  3. Use the Recover Lost Licenses tool. The tool prompts you to find, in our records, the crashed, lost, or damaged machine. Locate it either by supplying the products activated on it, or by entering the UMN (Unique Machine Number) ID.
