Embedded websites are not displayed in the Embed widget in ArcGIS Experience Builder

Description

In ArcGIS Experience Builder, when embedding website content using the website's URL in the Embed widget, the embedded URL is not displayed as expected and the error message below is returned instead.

Error:   
<Site Address URL> refused to connect.

Cause

The website's URL used in the Embed widget is not designed for use as an embedded URL in ArcGIS Experience Builder. For example, a Google direction URL copied from the browser's address bar, is designed based on the user's search and is only applicable at the time of search. So, the URL does not respond when used as an embedded link. 

Solution or Workaround

Use the URL with the appropriate embedded capability in ArcGIS Experience Builder. Refer to ArcGIS Experience Builder: Settings for more information.

Browse and copy the embed code URL from the preferred website. It is usually labeled as 'embed code' or 'embed URL'. In this example, the embedded URL of the route map is copied from Google Maps.

The map below shows the route map displayed as expected in the Embed widget in ArcGIS Experience Builder.
