Description
In ArcGIS Online Map Viewer, pop-ups are not displayed after clicking the inside of polygon symbols with no fill, such as the Extent Hollow or Double Stroke symbols.
Cause
This issue is the expected behavior in ArcGIS Online Map Viewer when using the polygon symbols with no fill. Refer to BUG-000166880 and BUG-000124663 for more information.
Solution or Workaround
Change the symbol styles in ArcGIS Online Map Viewer
- In ArcGIS Online Map Viewer, open the web map with the polygon feature layer. Refer to ArcGIS Online: View maps (Map Viewer) for instructions.
- In the Symbol style pane, change the symbol for the polygon feature layer to Vector Symbols. Refer to ArcGIS Online: Change symbol style for instructions. Ensure Polygon Fill is selected for Current symbol and No color is selected for Solid fill.
- Close the Symbol style pane and click Done to apply the changes.
Change the symbol properties in ArcGIS Pro and share it to ArcGIS Online
- Open the ArcGIS Pro project with the polygon feature layer.
- Change the properties for the polygon feature layer symbol. Refer to ArcGIS Pro: Polygon symbols properties for more information.
- In the Symbology pane, on the Primary symbology tab, click the polygon symbol.
- Under Gallery, select the preferred polygon symbol.
- Click the Properties tab. On the Symbol tab, for Appearance, set Color to No color.
- Select the preferred color for Outline color and set a value for Outline width.
- Apply and save the changes. Refer to ArcGIS Pro: Automatically apply symbol edits for instructions.
- Overwrite the web layer in ArcGIS Online. Refer to ArcGIS Pro: Overwrite a web feature layer for instructions.
Configure the polygon transparency in ArcGIS Pro and share it to ArcGIS Online
- Open the ArcGIS Pro project with the polygon feature layer.
- Refer to the first solution in How To: Configure different transparencies for polygon fills and outlines in ArcGIS Pro for instructions. In Step 4(c), set the color transparency to 100%.
- Overwrite the web layer in ArcGIS Online. Refer to ArcGIS Pro: Overwrite a web feature layer for instructions.
