Move ArcGIS Insights Desktop to a new computer

Summary

There are times when it may be necessary to move ArcGIS Insights Desktop to a new computer. You could export every single workbook to the new computer, but you might lose local content. The following steps provide an alternate way to do this.
 

Procedure

Note:
The below steps have not yet been formally tested and are not documented, therefore this procedure is not officially supported. For example, there may be an issue if the username on both machines is not exactly the same. Also, moving from macOS to Windows, and vice versa would not work.

1. Make sure that Insights is not open or actively running on the 'old' machine.
2. Install Insights on the 'new' machine, but don't start it. If Insights is already started on the new machine, delete the following folder:

%APPDATA%\Esri\ArcGIS Insights

3. Copy the folder '%APPDATA%\Esri\ArcGIS Insights' from the old machine to the new machine.
4. Start Insights on the new machine.
