Frequently asked question

Why is the editing toolbar missing in ArcGIS Pro?

Last Published: March 9, 2023

Answer

In ArcGIS Pro, the editing toolbar is displayed on a map view in an edit session for accessibility to active editing tools. In some cases, the editing toolbar is not displayed. This very often occurs when the ‘Show the editing toolbar on the map’ check box is unchecked, which is an 'Editing' application setting. It applies to all new projects and affects the ArcGIS Pro application state. Refer to ArcGIS Pro: Use project and application options for more information.

To enable the editing toolbar, refer to ArcGIS Pro: Show and customize the editing toolbar for further instructions.

Note:
The Options dialog box can also be opened by clicking the Project tab on the ribbon. In the list of side tabs, click Options.
