All layers in a group layer disappear when printed or exported from ArcMap

Description

All layers in a group layer disappear or do not display properly when the map is printed or exported from ArcMap.

Cause

This is a known issue when the group layer is set with transparency - a new feature at ArcGIS Desktop 9.2.

Workaround

Remove group layer transparency and set transparency on each individual layer in the group layer.
