[map design]
A type of thematic map that uses a regular grid of arrow vectors that vary in orientation to show the direction of significantly high waves—or incidents—of a phenomenon at a specific time. Vector flow maps are typically used to visualize wind, ocean currents, or traffic, with the arrow direction indicating the path of movement and the arrow length or width representing the speed or volume.
