Web maps with editable layers in the ArcGIS Field Maps app are displayed as read-only

Description

The ArcGIS Field Maps app allows mobile workers to use the app in the field to collect location and fill out forms. In some cases, a web map containing editable layers and enabled for ArcGIS Field Maps mobile use is not editable in the mobile app. When searching for the web map in the app, it only appears when selecting the 'Read-only' option.

Cause

Only the 'Use in ArcGIS Field Maps Mobile' option is enabled, while the 'Use in ArcGIS Collector' option is disabled in the web map settings.

Solution or Workaround

To enable web map editing in ArcGIS Field Maps app, enable the Use in ArcGIS Collector and Use in ArcGIS Field Maps Mobile settings.

1. Log in to ArcGIS Online with an organizational account.
2. Click Content, and click the My Content tab.
3. Navigate to and click the web map. The item details page of the web map opens.
4. Click the Settings tab, and scroll down to the Web Map section.
5. Under Application Settings, check the Use in ArcGIS Collector and Use in ArcGIS Field Maps Mobile check boxes.

Note: 
If the Use in ArcGIS Collector check box is not available, refer to Problem: The Use in ArcGIS Collector option is unavailable in a web map’s settings.

6. Click Save.
7. Open the ArcGIS Field Maps mobile app and click the Search icon. Select the Editing option and search for the web map. The web map is listed under the editable web maps list.
