Unable to select certain features in a map in ArcGIS Field Maps

Description

In the ArcGIS Field Maps mobile app, attempts to select certain features from a layer in a web map fail.

The image below shows a polygon feature selected instead of the intended point feature.

Cause

• Pop-ups for the hosted feature layer are not enabled in the existing web map.
• A new hosted feature layer is added to the web map through ArcGIS Field Maps Designer instead of ArcGIS Online Map Viewer. So, the newly added features of the hosted feature layer cannot be selected in the ArcGIS Field Maps mobile app. This is a known limitation, as addressed in BUG-000153048.

Solution or Workaround

Note:
Ensure the editing capabilities are enabled in the hosted feature layers in ArcGIS Online. Refer to ArcGIS Online: Manage hosted feature layer editing for more information.

Enable the pop-ups

Enable the pop-ups of the hosted feature layer in the web map. Refer to ArcGIS Online: Enable and remove pop-ups for instructions. In Step 4, toggle Enable pop-ups on.

Re-save the new hosted feature layer

In ArcGIS Online, open the newly created hosted feature layer's item details page, and click the Visualization tab > Save. Refresh the web map in the ArcGIS Field Maps mobile app.

Create a new web map

In ArcGIS Online, create a new web map and add the new hosted feature layers.

The image below shows the feature point selected as intended.
