The Sync Workspace option is disabled in Portal for ArcGIS

Description

When attempting to sync a collaboration workspace immediately in Portal for ArcGIS, the Sync Workspace option is disabled, as shown in the image below.

Cause

The Sync Workspace option is disabled when a scheduled sync fails or is in progress. A collaboration workspace can only execute one sync event at a time, and not execute concurrently.

Solution or Workaround

To enable the Sync Workspace option, purge the sync status message in the ArcGIS Portal Directory.

1. Log in to the ArcGIS Portal Directory as an administrator using the following URL:

https://<webadaptorhost>.<domain.com>/<webadaptorname>/sharing/rest

2. On the Users page, click Org ID.

3. Scroll to the bottom of the page, under Child Resources, click Collaborations.
4. Under Collaboration Id, browse to and click the collaboration ID.

5. Under Child Resources, click Collaboration Workspaces.
6. Under Collaboration Workspace Id, click the workspace ID.
7. Under Supported Operations, click Sync Status.
8. Under Status Id, browse to and click the status ID with the ‘in_progress’ status.

9. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Purge status messages.
10. On the Purge Collaboration Sync Status Messages page, click Purge Sync Status Messages.
