PROBLEM

Some feature labels are not displayed in ArcGIS Pro

Last Published: October 24, 2023

Description

In ArcGIS Pro, when using the Standard Label Engine to label features of a feature layer, some of the feature labels are not displayed, as shown in the image below.

Some of the labels for the features are not displayed in the map view.

Cause

The feature labels are duplicated and the ‘Remove all duplicates’ option is selected for handling the duplicate labels of the feature layer. When using the Standard Label Engine to label line feature layers, the option is selected by default in ArcGIS Pro to prevent the display of many of the same labels on the map.

Solution or Workaround

  1. Open the ArcGIS Pro project.
  2. In the Contents pane, right-click the feature layer, and click Labeling Properties….
  3. In the Label Class pane, click Position, and click the Position tab.
  4. Select One label per feature or One label per part from the Duplicate labels drop-down list to place the label for every feature or each part of the multipart feature. Refer to ArcGIS Pro: Work with duplicate labels for more information.
The 'Duplicate labels' options in the Label Class pane.

The image below shows the feature labels of the feature layer displayed in ArcGIS Pro.

The labels for the features are displayed in the map view.
