Missing labels on split polygon features in ArcGIS Pro

Description

In ArcGIS Pro, when polygon features are split, labels are not displayed on the new features. The image below shows the label not displayed on the split polygon feature.

Cause

This is a known behavior. The Split tool creates new feature(s) instead of modifying the existing feature. When new features are created, ArcGIS Pro does not automatically enable labeling for the features unless they are explicitly configured to do so. This behavior results in labels not being displayed on the new features, even if they contain the necessary attribute values for labeling.

Solution or Workaround

As a workaround, manually enable labelling for the new feature layer.

1. Open the ArcGIS Pro project.
2. In the Contents pane, right-click the new split polygon feature layer.
3. Click Label to enable labelling.

The image below shows the label displayed on the new polygon feature.
