PROBLEM
In ArcGIS Experience Builder, the Map Layers widget displays a list of layers in the map with the ability to control layer visibility. However, after turning the layer visibility off, the layer remains listed in the Map Layers widget, as shown in the web experience below.
This is expected behavior when the layer is connected to the map's data source and referenced in multiple widgets such as the Map and Map Layers widget. The Map Layers widget is designed to reflect the structure and content of the map, displaying all layers regardless of the layer visibility status.
After the ArcGIS Online February 2023 release, the Map Layers widget has included the new 'Customize layers' option. Toggle the Customize layers option on for the option to exclude the layers with visibility turned off from the Map Layers widget. The web experience below shows the Map Layers widget displaying only the visible feature layers.
