Summary
In ArcGIS Experience Builder, the Feature Info widget displays details about data from a feature layer or scene layer. By default, the widget selects and displays the first record in the list when the data source view is set to 'Default'. In some instances, it may not be ideal to display any records and to keep the widget blank when the experience is launched.
This article describes the workflow to prevent details from displaying by default in the Feature Info widget when launching an experience in ArcGIS Experience Builder.
Procedure
This workaround requires the usage of certain widgets to be alongside the Feature Info widget. In this example, the Map widget is used.
- Open the ArcGIS Experience Builder project and navigate to the Insert widget panel.
- Under Map centric, drag and drop the Map widget to a desired position on the experience.
- In the Map widget’s configuration pane, under Source, click Select map.
- In the Select data pane, select a web map. If needed, click Add new data to add a new web map from ArcGIS Online.
- Navigate to the Insert widget panel, under Data centric, drag and drop the Feature Info widget to a desired position on the experience.
- In the Feature Info widget's configuration pane, under Source, click Select data.
- In the Select data pane, select a feature layer. If needed, click Add new data to add a new feature layer from ArcGIS Online.
- Navigate to the added data in the Feature Info widget’s configuration pane under the Source section.
- In the data source views drop-down list, select Selected features.
- Optionally, under General, type a message to be displayed in the Feature Info widget when no features are selected in the Map widget as shown in the image below.
- Click Save to save the experience.
The image below demonstrates details in the Feature Info widget are not displayed when the experience is launched and only displays the details when a feature is selected in the Map widget.
