HOW TO
The floor area ratio (FAR) parameter determines the maximum building floor area allowed based on the size of the lot or land parcel. This parameter regulates the density and intensity of the development within a specific area. In ArcGIS Urban, the FAR parameter can be exported to a Microsoft Excel file by creating a scenario web scene, which generates a web scene and a hosted feature layer in ArcGIS Online. The hosted feature layer can then be exported to an Excel file and downloaded to the local folder. This method improves data usability, analysis, visualization, and sharing for professionals involved in land use and zoning regulations. This article provides the workflow to export the floor area ratio parameters to a Microsoft Excel file from ArcGIS Urban.
Note: To complete the following steps, the plan scenario must be added with planned developments and parcels. Refer to ArcGIS Urban: Work with building types and ArcGIS Urban: Add and edit parcels for more information.
Note: In ArcGIS Online, the hosted scenario feature layer and scenario web scene are created. The Built floor area ratio and Allowed floor area ratio layer visualizations are added to the scenario web scene as a group layer under the Parcels layer.
The image below shows the Excel file exported from the hosted scenario feature layer in the root folder on the ArcGIS Online Content page.
