Frequently asked question

For certain rasters, why are the majority, median, minority, and variety statistics not available in the Zonal Statistic tool?

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Answer

If the input value raster is a floating point raster, the zonal calculations for majority, median, minority, and variety are not computed.

To see if the raster dataset is a floating point or integer raster, check its properties in ArcCatalog/ArcMap as follows:

1) Right-click the raster dataset and click Properties.
2) Look under Raster information > Pixel type.
