The administrator has disabled the Services Directory

Error Message

When attempting to access the REST endpoint of a service from Portal for ArcGIS or log in to the Services Directory, the following error message is displayed:

The administrator has disabled the Services Directory.

Cause

Access to the Services Directory has been disabled.

Solution or Workaround

Use the following steps to enable access to the Services Directory in the ArcGIS Server Administrator Directory.

1. Log in to the ArcGIS Server Administrator Directory with administrator credentials. The URL to the ArcGIS Server Administrator Directory is as follows:

https://webadaptorhost.domain.com/webadaptorname/admin

2. Under Resources, click system > handlers > rest > servicesdirectory > edit.
3. On the Edit Services Directory page, check the Services Directory Enabled check box.

4. Click Save.
