DEPRECATION
All components of Workflow Manager (Classic) are being deprecated, which includes:
Workflow Manager (Classic) was built to support ArcMap, which is an older Esri technology that will reach the end of mature support in 2026. Classic is a geodatabase-centric system and does not fully support the web-based direction that the technology and customers are moving toward for their day-to-day operations.
Workflow Manager (Classic) will be deprecated in Q4 2024. Organizations using (Classic) should start developing a transition plan to move to the service-based Workflow Manager. Organizations should start planning as soon as possible as there is not an upgrade or easy migration option. It will be a new implementation with redesigned workflows.
The final release for the Workflow Manager (Classic) Pro Admin and the Workflow Manager (Classic) views in ArcGIS Pro that are accessed using the Workflow Manager (Classic) Pro extension will be ArcGIS Pro 3.4.
Starting at the 11.0 release, the code for the Workflow Manager (Classic) server extension has been wrapped into ArcGIS Enterprise so there is no longer a separate installation, but users can still publish a (Classic) service to ArcGIS Server. The final release of the Workflow Manager (Classic) server extension will be ArcGIS Enterprise 11.4. Customers will be able to insert Workflow Manager (Classic) connections in ArcGIS Pro 3.4 and publish (Classic) services to an 11.4 ArcGIS Server.
Organizations using Workflow Manager (Classic) in Pro will be required to either stay on ArcGIS Pro 3.4 (workflows built in Classic will no longer function in future releases) or they will be required to transition to service-based ArcGIS Workflow Manager.
