radiance

  1. [photogrammetry] Radiation that is reflected from the surface of a feature, bounced into the optical path from surrounding areas, and reflected from clouds above the area of a pixel. It is a measurement of the flux density of radiant energy per unit solid angle and per unit projected area of radiating surface, measured in watts per steradian per square meter (W·sr–1·m–2), as a function of wavelength.
