  1. [photogrammetry] A process, such as sensor technology, that captures image data within discrete and somewhat narrow wavelength ranges across the electromagnetic spectrum. Typically measures several spectral bands using a subset of targeted wavelengths at chosen locations, for example, 400–1100 nm in increments of 20 nm.
