Esri recommends creating and editing mosaic datasets in the ArcGIS Pro version compatible with the other versions of ArcGIS software. The table below lists the product version compatibility of the mosaic dataset created in ArcGIS Pro and other ArcGIS software.

Alternatively, upgrade the mosaic dataset version created in an older version of ArcGIS Pro by editing it using a newer version of ArcGIS Pro.

Note:
For example, if a mosaic dataset is created using ArcGIS Pro 2.3, editing it using ArcGIS Pro 2.5 upgrades the version of the mosaic dataset. This mosaic dataset is compatible with ArcGIS 10.8 or ArcGIS 10.8.1. including ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Server, and ArcMap.
