Unable to share ArcGIS Survey123 survey and results with an ArcGIS Online group

Description

When managing surveys on the ArcGIS Survey123 website, surveys and results can be shared to groups created in ArcGIS Online on the Collaborate tab.

However in some instances, an ArcGIS Online group is unavailable in the list of groups to share the surveys and results.

Cause

The ArcGIS Online group has update capabilities. Groups with update capabilities cannot be used to share surveys or results from the ArcGIS Survey123 website to protect the data, as members of such groups can edit all the items shared with the group members.

Note:
The recent February 2021 ArcGIS Survey123 3.12 update allows groups with update capabilities to update surveys but not share the surveys and results.

Solution or Workaround

It is not possible to change the update capabilities setting of a group. The only workaround is to create a new group without update capabilities, and invite members to the new group. To create a group without update capabilities, select Only their own items for What items in the group can its members update? when creating the group.
