ArcGIS GeoEnrichment Server Upgrade Preparation Patch

Summary

This patch rebuilds indexes for data installed to GeoEnrichment Server to prepare it to be compatible with ArcGIS Enterprise version 10.8 and future versions. This patch is required for 10.7 and 10.7.1 and must be installed prior to upgrading GeoEnrichment Server to the next version.

Description

EsriĀ® announces the ArcGIS GeoEnrichment Server Upgrade Preparation Patch. This patch rebuilds indexes for data installed to GeoEnrichment Server to prepare it to be compatible with ArcGIS Enterprise version 10.8 and future versions. This patch is required for 10.7 and 10.7.1 and must be installed prior to upgrading GeoEnrichment Server to the next version. This patch deals specifically with the issues listed below under Issues Addressed with this patch.

Issues Addressed with this patch

  • BUG-000126670 - Business Analyst Enterprise data installed at version 10.7.x must be reindexed before upgrading to 10.8 and future versions.
To avoid conflicts this patch on 10.7.1 also addresses:
  • BUG-000124421 - Incorrect values for five year projected consumer expenditure variables with GeoEnrichment Server 10.7x and 2019 Enterprise data.
To avoid conflicts this patch on 10.7 also addresses:
  • BUG-000124421 - Incorrect values for five year projected consumer expenditure variables with GeoEnrichment Server 10.7x and 2019 Enterprise data.
  • BUG-000121895 - Instability of batched GeoEnrichment requests with Business Analyst Enterprise 10.7.

Installing this patch on Windows


Installation Steps:


The ArcGIS product listed in the table must be installed on your system before you can install a patch. Each patch setup is specific to the ArcGIS product in the list. To determine which products are installed on your system, please see the How to identify which ArcGIS products are installed section. Esri recommends that you install the patch for each product that is on your system.

  1. Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.

  2. Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location.
  3. Double-click ArcGIS-<Version>-GES-UP-Patch.exe or .msp to start the setup process.

    NOTE: If double clicking on the MSP file does not start the setup installation, you can start the setup installation manually by using the following command:

    msiexec.exe /p [location of Patch]\ArcGIS-<Version>-GES-UP-Patch.exe or .msp

Post installation instructions:

  1. In the Start menu, Search for the GeoEnrichment Upgrade Preparation Utility and open it.
  2. Click Next to automatically verify prerequisites and proceed to the Portal authorization page.

    Note: Before the GeoEnrichment Upgrade Preparation Utility wizard can proceed, the GeoEnrichment Data Store service must finish restarting. If you see the Retry button, wait a few minutes and try again.

  3. Enter the portal administrator username and password and click Next.
  4. Click Prepare.

Uninstalling this patch on Windows

  • To uninstall this patch on Windows, open the Windows Control Panel and navigate to installed programs. Make sure that "View installed updates" (upper left side of the Programs and Features dialog) is active. Select the patch name from the programs list and click Uninstall to remove the patch.

How to identify which ArcGIS products are installed

To determine which ArcGIS products are installed, choose the appropriate version of the PatchFinder utility for your environment and run it from your local machine. PatchFinder will list all products, hot fixes, and patches installed on your local machine.
