Unable to publish feature classes with a geometric network from ArcGIS Desktop to ArcGIS Online

Description

When attempting to publish feature classes with a geometric network from ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro to ArcGIS Online, publishing fails, and the following error messages are returned:

In ArcMap

Error:   
Error 001270: consolidating the data failed.

In ArcGIS Pro

Error:   
Status: Failed StatusMessage: Consolidation failed ErrorMessage: Consolidation failed

Cause

The errors encountered are related to build errors in the geometric network in which the feature classes are involved.

Solution or Workaround

Note:
Geometric network functionality is not supported in ArcGIS Online. When publishing a geometric network to ArcGIS Online, the geometric network functionality is no longer available.

To resolve the issue, identify and fix the errors in the feature classes. Alternatively, make copies of the feature classes without the geometric network to allow publishing.
