The Table widget inside a collapsible sidebar does not expand automatically in ArcGIS Experience Builder

Description

In ArcGIS Experience Builder, the Table widget is used to display attribute tables of selected records, but it can occupy significant screen space. To maintain a clean interface, it is embedded within a collapsible Sidebar widget and displays the table only when necessary. However, when the 'View in table' or 'Add to table' action is selected, the sidebar remains collapsed, and the updated table is not immediately visible to the user.

Cause

This behavior is expected. Starting with ArcGIS Enterprise 11.4, the 'Open sidebar' message action triggers the Sidebar widget to expand when a record selection changes. The 'View in table' and 'Add to table' actions do not trigger the 'Open sidebar' action.

Solution or Workaround

As a workaround, use the Widget Controller widget instead of the Sidebar widget to automatically display the Table widget when the 'View in table' or 'Add to table' actions are used.

1. Open the ArcGIS Experience Builder web experience.
2. In the Insert widget panel, drag and drop the Widget Controller widget to the canvas.
3. Add and configure the Table widget.
   1. In the Insert widget panel, drag and drop the Table widget to the Widget Controller widget.
   2. Click the Table widget within the Widget Controller widget.
   3. In the Table pane, on the Content tab, under Mode, click Select layers.
4. Save, preview, and publish the experience.

When the 'View in table' or 'Add to table' action is selected, the Widget Controller widget automatically expands to display the Table widget.
