The domain list in the Map Viewer Create features pane does not match the list on the ArcGIS Online Data tab

Description

When creating a new feature in Map Viewer, the list in the Create features pane does not display domains assigned to the attribute field. When the list is viewed from the Data tab in ArcGIS Online, the domain list is displayed.

To solve the issue, use Map Viewer Classic to assign domains to newly created features, or assign the corresponding subtypes when creating new features in Map Viewer.

Cause

This is known behavior when an attribute field with domains is assigned subtypes.

Solution or Workaround

Use Map Viewer Classic

Assign domains to newly created features by creating new features in Map Viewer Classic.

  1. In ArcGIS Online, navigate to Content > My Content.
  2. Browse to the hosted feature layer, click More Options The More Options button and select Open in Map Viewer Classic with full editing control.
  3. Create new features. Refer to ArcGIS Online: Edit features (Map Viewer Classic) for more information and instructions.

Use Map Viewer

Alternatively, when creating new features in Map Viewer, select the corresponding subtype to assign the domain to the newly created feature. Refer to ArcGIS Online: Add features for more information.
