Other features are hidden after zooming in on the search location results in the ArcGIS Instant Apps Zone Lookup template

Description

In ArcGIS Instant Apps, layer effects allow for the emphasizing and de-emphasizing of features, as well as differentiating between the features that are included and excluded in a filter when all features are displayed. Sometimes, when clicking features with the Zone Lookup template, other features are hidden after zooming in on the search location results, as shown in the image below.

Cause

This issue occurs when ‘Use layer effects’ is not toggled on. Thus, only the selected feature is displayed after zooming in on the search location results.

Solution or Workaround

1. Log in to ArcGIS Instant Apps and click the My Apps tab.
2. Browse to the app and click Configure .
3. In the configuration panel, toggle Express off to access all the configurable settings for the app.

4. In the Turn off express mode window, click Continue.

5. Click Zone Lookup and click Style results.

6. In the Style results pane, toggle Use layer effects on.
7. Expand the Visualization mode drop-down menu, and select the desired mode. In this example, Drop Shadow + Gray is selected.

8. Click Publish to save the configuration.

The image below shows the selected feature from the search results, along with other features displayed simultaneously.
