PROBLEM
Sites, layers, and maps in ArcGIS Business Analyst Web App can be exported as a web map, which can then be accessed in other ArcGIS applications such as ArcGIS Pro or ArcGIS Online Map Viewer. In some instances, when a map is created and exported as a web map to ArcGIS Online, the attribute data is not preserved. This issue is also identified in ArcGIS Community Analyst. Preserving attribute data is crucial for precise analysis and efficient problem-solving.
The image below shows the attribute table for the exported feature layer in ArcGIS Pro. The attribute table contains features with no field values compared to the original attribute data from the ArcGIS Business Analyst Web App.
The map layer is temporary and only stored in the ArcGIS Business Analyst Web App and ArcGIS Community Analyst projects. When exporting the map layer, only the web map is stored in ArcGIS Online; the map content is not saved as a hosted feature layer.
When creating a map using the Color-coded maps, Smart map search, or Points of interest (POI) search options, ensure the temporary map layer is saved by clicking Save layer before exporting it as a web map. This workflow saves search results as a hosted feature layer in ArcGIS Online, which allows them to be accessed correctly from multiple ArcGIS applications.
When exporting the temporary map layer as a web map in ArcGIS Online, check the Export map layers in a new hosted feature service check box in the Share map window. This option exports the project's map contents, including search results, to a new hosted feature layer in ArcGIS Online, which can be accessed from multiple ArcGIS applications. Refer to ArcGIS Business Analyst: Share web maps and layers for more information.
