Attachments are not displayed in pop-ups of a map image layer in Map Viewer

Description

In Portal for ArcGIS or ArcGIS Online, when viewing pop-ups of a map image layer in a web map, the attachments are displayed in Map Viewer Classic but not in Map Viewer, as shown in the images below.

Cause

This is a known limitation when sharing map image layers to ArcGIS Enterprise versions 11.0 and earlier. The capabilities to view attachments in the map image layer’s pop-ups are not supported in Portal for ArcGIS Map Viewer and ArcGIS Online Map Viewer.

Solution or Workaround

Upgrade to ArcGIS Enterprise 11.1

The attachments are displayed in the Map Viewer pop-ups when the map image layer is shared with ArcGIS Enterprise 11.1 and later. Refer to How To: Upgrade to ArcGIS Enterprise 11.x to upgrade to ArcGIS Enterprise 11.1.

Open the map image layer to view the attachments in Map Viewer Classic. Refer to Portal for ArcGIS: Add layers to maps (Map Viewer Classic) or ArcGIS Online: Add layers to maps (Map Viewer Classic) for instructions.
