A publicly shared web app created in ArcGIS Web AppBuilder prompts for organizational login credentials when using the Print widget

Description

In ArcGIS Web AppBuilder, the Print widget is used to generate printable documents from a web application. The Print widget can be configured to use the ArcGIS Enterprise PrintingTools service, or a custom print service created in ArcGIS Pro.

In some instances, attempts to print the current map in the web app using the Print widget fail and return prompts for organizational login credentials.

Cause

The print service used when configuring the Print widget is not shared with everyone. Therefore, the Print widget on the publicly shared web app cannot be utilized by users outside the organization.

Solution or Workaround

Enable the Everyone (public) option for the print service in ArcGIS Server Manager

Note:
The following procedure may require the assistance of an IT personnel or members with administrator privileges.
  1. Navigate to ArcGIS Server Manager using the following URL:
<machine>.<domain>.com/<webadaptorname>/manager
  1. Navigate to Services > Utilities > PrintingTools and click Sharing Properties The Sharing Properties icon.
