Perform a silent deauthorization on concurrent or single use licenses

Instructions provided describe how to perform a silent deauthorization on single use or concurrent use licenses. The commands described here return (deauthorize) only the license(s) specified. Multiple licenses may be returned by entering comma-delimited authorization numbers.

Procedure

Concurrent-use licenses

  1. To deauthorize concurrent-use licenses, verify SoftwareAuthorizationLS.exe exists in any of the following directories:
    • ArcGIS License Manager 2018 and newer:
      C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcGIS\LicenseManager\bin
    • ArcGIS License Manager 10.x:
      C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcGIS\License10.x\bin
  2. Open a command prompt window, and change the path to the directory of the relevant License Manager as shown in step 1.
  3. Run the following command to deauthorize the software silently:
    • Windows example:
SoftwareAuthorizationLS.exe -s -return  EFL123456789,EFL987654321
  • Unix example:
SoftwareAuthorizationLS -S -return EFL123456789,EFL987654321
Single-use licenses
  1. To deauthorize a single-use license, verify SoftwareAuthorization.exe exists in the following directory:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\ArcGIS\bin
  1. Open a command prompt window, and change the path to C:\Program Files\Common Files\ArcGIS\bin.
  2. Run the following command to deauthorize the software silently:
SoftwareAuthorization.exe -return ESU123456789,ESU987654321 /s
